Im Jahr 2003 wurde das Bautzener Burgtheater/Dźiwadło na hrodźe, ein Neubau im Hof der historischen Ortenburg, feierlich eröffnet. Hier haben neben den Schauspielinszenierungen der kleinen Form auch das Puppentheater, sowie das sorbische Kinder- und Jugendtheater ihr Domizil gefunden. Das große Haus des Theaters wurde nach der Restaurierung 2006 wiedereröffnet und bietet auf der Hauptbühne für rund 400 Besucher ein breites Theaterrepertoire.2.
